Guyana will once again take its place on the global tactical stage when its elite police [SWAT] unit competes in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious international law enforcement competitions, hosted annually in Dubai.

The Guyanese team will go head-to-head with top-tier tactical units from across the globe in a series of five high-intensity challenges designed to test physical endurance, tactical precision, teamwork and performance under extreme pressure.

Guyana’s return to the competition underscores the professionalism, operational readiness and growing international engagement of the country’s specialised police forces, as they continue to benchmark their skills against some of the best units in the world.

The seventh edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge is scheduled for February 7–11 at Training City in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai, and is expected to attract significant international attention, large crowds and millions of online viewers.

Members of the Guyanese community in Dubai are being encouraged to attend the competition in person and rally behind the national team. Admission is free, with tickets available through the Virgin Megastore website, offering supporters a chance to show national pride and provide direct encouragement as Guyana competes on the world stage.

For supporters in Guyana and around the world who are unable to attend, the competition will be streamed live on the official UAE SWAT Challenge YouTube channel, allowing fans to follow every moment and cheer on the team from anywhere in the world.
