Man stabbed in row over building materials placed in front yard 

A 55-year-old resident of Dowding Street, Kitty, is in a critical condition after he was stabbed during an argument over building materials that were placed in front of his yard.

Police Headquarters reported that the man was injured at about 06:45 hrs Wednesday by another resident of Dowding Street.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and the suspect have an ongoing dispute regarding building materials being left at the victim’s gate.

It is alleged that on Wednesday, the victim was exiting his yard when he observed a load of sand dumped in front of his property. He approached the suspect and asked him to remove the sand, but the suspect refused, and an argument ensued, which escalated into a physical altercation.

The suspect reportedly left the scene, returned with a sharp object, and stabbed the victim once in the abdomen before making good his escape in an unknown direction.

The victim subsequently rode to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation Accident and Emergency Unit, where he was examined by a doctor on duty and admitted as a patient. His condition is listed as critical, but stable.

CCTV cameras were observed and are presently being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
