The remains of a man were discovered on Saturday afternoon within a savannah at Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Berbice.

The deceased has been identified as Raymond Hack, commonly known as “Kiki,” aged 51, residing at Lot 2 Koker Dam, Fyrish, Corentyne, Berbice.

The man’s brother, Hardat Lall, aged 68, also of Fyrish Village told reporters that he last saw his brother on April 6, 2026. The family visited Raymond’s residence several times after, visited the hospital, and elsewhere in the neighborhood but was unable to locate him.

A missing person’s report was filed at the Albion Police Station.

Lall also stated that his brother was an alcoholic and had been suffering from dementia for some time.

“Around 4 o’clock, a boy chasing cattle reported seeing someone, and upon investigation, they found Raymond,” [translated from Guyanese creole] he said.

Authorities were notified and responded to the scene. An examination of the body revealed no visible signs of violence.

Lall expressed his belief that foul play was unlikely in this incident.

“Me think that he went somewhere to drink and like he miss he track. Because he come to a stage he never used to want work. Only drinking all the time,” [I believe he was intoxicated and got lost from his usual route home. He had stopped working and only consuming alcohol],  the grieving brother stated.

Raymond’s body was retrieved from the savannah and taken to Ramoo Funeral Home and placed into cold storage pending a post-mortem examination.
