Bartica man, 37, found with several rounds of ammo

A 37-year-old resident of Bartica, Region Seven, was arrested after he was nabbed with several rounds of ammunition on Monday.

According to a Police release, ranks acted on information received and went to a location at Second Avenue, Bartica, where a male was observed behaving suspiciously. He was approached by ranks, and a search was conducted on his person.

During the search, Police said, ranks observed several suspected 12-gauge cartridges in the suspect’s hand and immediately took possession of them. A further search was conducted on his person and in a haversack he was carrying, during which two additional boxes of cartridges were found, bringing the total number of cartridges found to 19.

The suspect was then arrested and escorted to the Bartica Police Station along with the suspected cartridges, which were subsequently lodged.

The suspect remains in police custody, assisting with investigations.

Investigations are ongoing.
