AK-47 firearm probe: Two men remanded to prison


Two men, Gregory Persaud and Antonio Alonzo Lawrie, were charged in relation to the ongoing probe into the recent discovery of 10 AK-47 rifles and were remanded to prison.
In a release, Police Headquarters said the men were charged with conspiracy to commit a Felony. The charge was laid under Section 33 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act,
Lawrie and Persaud appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Wales Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where the charge was read to them. They both pleaded not guilty.
Bail was refused, and they were remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to July 29, 2026.
