Zeelugt tragedy: 7-Y-O boy died from incised wound to the neck

An autopsy conducted on the body of seven-year-old Adriel Aftab Mohamed, the boy who was killed at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo last week, found that he died from an incised wound to the neck.
The autopsy was conducted by government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh on Monday. The News Room understands that evidence of sharp, blunt force injuries was seen on the boy’s body, consistent with the use of a knife.
The boy’s body was later handed over to the family for funeral arrangements.
On Sunday night, the News Room reported that the 23-year-old man who was arrested on Saturday has confessed to the brutal killing of the boy.
Deputy Commissioner, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed that detectives secured digital evidence pinning the 23-year-old to the crime scene when the tragedy unfolded. When shown the evidence, the man reportedly confessed to the crime, providing gruesome details of what transpired.
Little Mohamed was killed early Friday morning while at home with his 72-year-old great-grandmother; the elderly woman was badly injured and is receiving medical care.
Investigators also recovered a knife from the crime scene, which the suspect confirmed was the weapon that he used to kill the boy and injure the elderly woman.
