    Guyanese batter Mavendra Dindyal stroked a half-century on Tuesday as West Indies Academy put up a solid reply to Sri Lanka Emerging Players on Day Two of the first unofficial ‘Test’ in Hambantota.

    Responding to Sri Lanka Emerging Players’ first innings score of 356, West Indies Academy closed the day on 273-5, 83 runs adrift in the Four-Day fixture.

    Batting at number three, the right-handed Dindyal made 60 off 79 (6x4s, 1×6). Skipper Rivaldo Clarke of not out on 72 off 132 (7x4s, 1×6), while Shaqkere Parris made 55 off 115 (3x4s).

    Guyanese Kevlon Anderson made two.

    Bowling for Sri Lanka Emerging Players, left-arm spinner Shakthi Udara has so far taken 3-85.

    Sri Lanka Emerging Players’ total of 356 was built on a magnificent 163 from wicket-keeper/batter Anjala Bandara. It was the 22-year-old’s fifth First-Class hundred.
