FumaCon 2026 attracts international guests, supports Guyana’s orange economy

In these past five years, Guyana’s events landscape has significantly changed with many entrepreneurs choosing to target various niches in order to provide something innovative to our country. One of these events is FumaCon, an anime and comic convention fully led by Guyanese youth. This event, now being hosted in its 4th edition on July 4th & 5th 2026 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel has grown to a 2 day event with several, international special guests as its main highlight.
For FumaCon2026, Seishonen Guyana will be bringing mainstream voice actor, Ray Chase best known for bringing life to some of the most iconic characters in anime and video games such as Noctis in Final Fantasy XV, Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer, Neuvillette in Genshin Impact, Cyclops in X-Men ’97 and Bruno Bucciarati in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Similarly, Luxsteez cosplay, an award winning builder with over a decade of experience in cosplay craftsmanship will be leading a VIP inclusive prop making workshop along with serving as a judge for our Individual cosplay competition and serving as a panelist on our ‘’Creatives in the Caribbean and beyond’’ activity. This panel will be moderated by our third guest, Cosplay Alliance, a Toronto based cosplay community company led by Guyanese, Anthony Narine who has strong partnerships with reputable companies like Warner brothers, Paramount, Marvel, Disney etc. Additionally, Anthony has ‘’Caribbean Corna’’, a podcast centered around Caribbean music, food and events with over 100k followers. Bill the juggler, a Florida-based circus performer will also be in attendance as he is known for using dynamic tricks to entertain crowds.
Besides our international guests, attendees can expect a wide variety of activities, workshops and panels. All of our on stage activities are free for attendees to participate in or watch. Some of these activities are Family feud, Let’s make a deal, Anime Spelling Bee, charades and so many more. A designated retro gaming room will also enable our attendees to play popular 90s games (fitting with our vintage event theme) for just $1,000 GYD for 10 minutes. Pertaining to our workshops and panels, Seishonen Guyana has forged partnerships with the University of Guyana’s Game Development club, the Embassy of Japan, the Embassy of Brazil’s IGR, the Embassy of Mexico and Wave. Each of these partnerships provides our attendees with free, educational and engaging workshops where they can learn new cultures and skills.
