6-Y-O boy drowns in Edinburgh

A grieving mother is struggling to cope with the heartbreaking loss of her six-year-old son, who drowned while swimming with other children in the backlands of Edinburgh, East Bank Berbice, on Sunday afternoon.
Dead is Kayden Busey of 1230 Glasgow Housing Scheme, a Grade One pupil of All Saints Primary School in New Amsterdam.
Speaking with reporters, Kayden’s mother, Gaynor Paul, said her son left home with his two brothers, aged four and eight. According to Paul, she later learned that the boys, along with two girls aged 12 and 13, had gone to swim in a trench.
She was told that while the two girls were playing in the water, Kayden jumped into the trench and suddenly disappeared beneath the surface. The child’s eight-year-old brother reportedly attempted to find him but was unsuccessful.
Paul explained that she was alerted to the situation by a relative who informed her that Kayden was missing. She immediately rushed to the scene, where relatives and residents had already begun searching the area.
After an extensive search, Kayden’s body was discovered by a relative shortly after 15:00 hours.
In a desperate effort to save him, Paul said she attempted to resuscitate her son before he was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital. However, doctors later pronounced him dead.
Fighting back tears, Paul described Kayden as a loving and talkative child whose death has left a void in the family.
“He was so loving. He like to talk a lot. My heart piece gone,” she said.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
