Alex Algoo’s all-round heroics power Dynamic CC to dominant wins in NYCL

Guyanese Alex Algoo continued his rich vein of form in the New York Cricket League, turning in a pair of blistering, match-winning performances for Dynamic Cricket Club at Van Cortlandt Park.

In a fixture against Blade Warriors Cricket Club, the former national youth cricketer was at his destructive best, dismantling the opposition bowling attack with a whirlwind 142 off just 59 balls.

His innings, which anchored Dynamic CC’s imposing total of 262 for 4 from their allotted 30 overs, was punctuated by 14 towering sixes and four boundaries.

Patrick Francis played a valuable anchoring role at the other end, contributing a patient 80-ball 61, inclusive of six fours and a maximum.

Algoo then returned with the ball to completely derail the Blade Warriors’ chase. Delivering a masterclass in all-round dominance, he claimed remarkable figures of 6-29 across 5.4 overs, single-handedly bundling the Warriors out for 148 in 24.5 overs to secure a comprehensive victory.

There was no respite for the opposition in the subsequent match against Wadadli Cricket Club, as Algoo went one better in the audacity stakes.

Chasing 159 for victory, Algoo went into overdrive, slamming an unbeaten 106 off a mere 29 deliveries.

In a breathtaking display of power-hitting, he plundered 12 fours and eight sixes, combining with Shahzad Shahid—who struck a rapid 51 not out off 24 balls—to ruthlessly chase down the target.

Dynamic CC raced to 162 without loss in just 8.4 overs, sealing a data-defying 10-wicket win.

Earlier in the day, Wadadli Cricket Club had been bowled out for 158 in 29.4 overs. Rohan Rampshard top-scored with 30, while Wadadli Scorer (26) and Beige Atief (23*) offered brief resistance.

Algoo was once again central to the bowling effort, strangling the scoring rate with figures of 2-12 from his six overs.

He was well supported by Romaine Richards, who picked up 3- 35, and Sanjay Algoo, who chipped in with 2- 36 to set up another dominant day for Dynamic CC.
