More than 2,000 land titles to be distributed at Building Expo 2026

More than 2,000 certificates of title will be distributed during the upcoming Building Expo 2026 as the government continues efforts to provide landowners with legal documentation and housing opportunities, according to Minister of Housing, Collin Croal.
Speaking during a recent interview with the News Room, Croal said the Housing Ministry is preparing to distribute titles and sign agreements of sale for residents in newly developed housing areas.
“We have agreements of sale that we will be signing as well as processing of titles for new areas that we have assigned. Those persons are being informed,” he said.
Croal disclosed that over 2,000 certificates of title are ready to be uplifted during the four-day event. He noted that the ministry has already published a schedule indicating when residents from specific housing areas can collect their documents.
“We have over 2,000 certificate of titles to be uplifted during the Building Expo. We have published the schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the respective areas,” he explained.
The titles being distributed are linked to allocations and agreements signed between February and the present, Croal said.
The Housing Minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing housing programme, noting that the administration has committed to constructing 40,000 houses this year as part of its broader housing development agenda.
Building Expo 2026 will be held from June 25 – 28 at the National Stadium under the theme, “Guyana at 60: Building Strong Foundations for a Sustainable Future.”
