Fitness Express maintains strong backing for Powerlifting Intermediate/Masters Championships

Fitness Express has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to Guyanese powerlifting by confirming its official sponsorship for this Sunday’s highly anticipated Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) Intermediate and Masters Championships.

The tournament, which takes place at the Saint Stanislaus College Auditorium, sees local athletes putting the final touches on their preparations.

Ahead of the event, Fitness Express Manager Jamie McDonald presented the official sponsorship cheque to GAPLF President Franklin Wilson, ensuring the company’s nearly two-decade run of supporting local sportsmen and women continues.

“We here at Fitness Express value the partnership with the GAPLF,” McDonald said. “We have been consistently supporting this sport ever since we started business and have seen the continued development of the athletes, both male and female. We are very proud of being a valued partner and we will continue to play our part as a responsible corporate citizen.”

The business, located at the corner of Sheriff and John Street, does more than just back major events.

Following their support for the Novices and Juniors championships back in March, Fitness Express continues to assist dozens of individual powerlifters each week by offering discounted prices on essential supplements and equipment.

GAPLF President Wilson expressed his gratitude on behalf of the executive committee, noting that the federation deeply cherishes the continued corporate investment.

All eyes now turn to Sunday’s venue, where the action is scheduled to begin with the official athlete weigh-in at 07:00h, before the first lifts under the bar commence at 09:00h.
