Guyanese footballer Annalisa Vincent celebrates historic title with Geranium City

Lady Jags footballer Annalisa Vincent says her Geranium City side is “building something special” after clinching the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Women’s Georgia Regular Season Championship in their debut campaign.
The McDonough-based club capped a remarkable inaugural 2026 spring season by finishing undefeated with five wins and a draw from its six matches.
A comprehensive 5-1 victory over FC Birmingham in their final fixture sealed the title in style, taking Geranium City’s goal tally to 23 for the season and placing them firmly at the top of the standings.
Vincent, a key figure for the Guyana senior women’s national team, played a pivotal role in the historic achievement and believes the triumph sets a high benchmark for the club’s future.
“This was a very important win for us and it’s an amazing feeling to get the win against Birmingham and move to the top of the table,” Vincent said.
“What makes this achievement even more special is that this is our first season as a new team playing in the UPSL, so this achievement means a lot.”
The ‘Lady Jags’ forward added that the unbeaten run has laid down a significant marker as the expansion franchise looks to cement its place among the league’s elite.
“This result sets the standard for who we want to be as a team and shows that we have the potential to be one of the top teams in the league,” she said.
“I truly believe we are making history for this club in its first season. I’m proud of what we have accomplished so far and grateful to be part of a group that continues to push each other to improve every day.” (Modified GFF Release)
