Knockout places on the line in Beharry U19 School T20 League

The race for the regional silverware in the 2026 Beharry U19 Schools’ T20 Cricket tournament is set to hit fever pitch this coming weekend, with a high-stakes lineup of knockout fixtures scheduled across multiple venues.
Following a string of intensely contested early rounds that showcased some of the country’s finest teenage talent, teams are now facing a make-or-break juncture as they look to secure berths in their respective Zone finals.
Last weekend’s encounters raised the bar significantly, featuring standout individual performances from Guyana’s elite Under-19 prospects who carried their school sides through tense scenarios to keep their title hopes alive.
With momentum building and the margins for error shrinking, key players will be under immense pressure to replicate their form on the big stage.
The action kicks off in Zone 1 on June 28 at the Joe Jagmohan Ground, which plays host to a double-header of semi-final clashes. Santa Rosa Secondary will lock horns with Charity Secondary in the morning fixture at 9:30 AM, followed immediately by a formidable encounter between Abram Zuil and Aurora Secondary at 1:30 PM.
Meanwhile, over at the Uitvlugt Ground, a packed schedule awaits across both Zone 2 and Zone 3. The Zone 2 itinerary begins on June 27 at 8:00 AM, where West Demerara Secondary and West Minister Secondary will battle it out in their semi-final.
The winner of that contest will have little time to rest before facing Essequibo Islands Secondary in the Zone 2 Final on June 28 at 1:30 PM.
The East Bank Demerara/Upper Demerara region (Zone 3) will also see its final spots decided at the same venue in Uitvlugt.
The first semi-final features Diamond Secondary taking on Covent Garden at 11:00 AM, followed by Yarrakabra squaring off against Camille’s Academy at 2:00 PM.
The victorious sides from these two matchups will return on June 28 at 9:30 AM to contest the Zone 3 Final, setting the stage for a blockbuster weekend of school cricket. (Modified Press Release)
