Building Expo 2026 attracts over 50,000 visitors


More than 50,000 persons attended International Building Expo 2026 over the weekend, experiencing new developments and innovations within the housing sector while benefitting from key services from the subject ministry.
Minister of Housing Collin Croal said the initiative allowed thousands of Guyanese to access key housing services in one location, the National Stadium, while showcasing the government’s ongoing housing programme.
Among the major services offered was the distribution of more than 2,100 Certificates of Title. The titles were distributed for the areas: Plantation Vriesland, Laurentia Catherina, Plantation Leonora West, Good Hope and Plantation Lusignan.

The Ministry also allocated just over 1,000 house lots on the East Coast of Demerara and facilitated the signing of more than 700 Agreements of Sale for allottees in Blocks A and B of Vive La Force and De Kinderen on the West Coast of Demerara.
In addition, over 70 steel and cement subsidy vouchers worth more than $17 million were distributed to beneficiaries in Region Three to assist with home construction.
International Building Expo was deemed the largest yet featuring more than 300 exhibitors, including more international companies from countries across the globe.
