Odyssey Sightseeing Tours equips national U-19 skipper Ram ahead of regional tournament

Odyssey Sightseeing Tours has made a timely donation of cricket equipment to Guyana Under-19 captain Pameshwar Ram as he prepares to lead the country in the upcoming Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 Championship.
Ram, the West Demerara captain who hails from the village of Meten-Meer-Zorg, received a quantity of cricket gear, including batting pads, gloves, bowling boots, and other essential equipment to aid his preparation for upcoming regional competition.
Speaking at a simple presentation ceremony at Odyssey Sightseeing Tours’ North Road location, Manager Carol Rampersaud said the company was delighted to once again support the development of cricket in Guyana by investing in promising young athletes.
“Odyssey is once again very pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cricket in Guyana, especially by supporting a young and dynamic player like Pameshwar Ram. He has been a rising star on the Guyana cricket circuit since his Under-15 days, and we are confident he has a bright future ahead,” Rampersaud said.
Ram expressed his sincere gratitude to Odyssey Sightseeing Tours for its continued support, noting that the assistance would help him prepare for the challenges ahead.
“I would like to thank Odyssey Sightseeing Tours for their continued assistance. I will make full use of this equipment as I work hard to help Guyana bring home the championship trophy,” Ram said.

In addition to the contribution from Odyssey Sightseeing Tours, Ram also received a pair of Adidas batting boots from former Guyana Under-19 wicketkeeper Ejaz Asgarally, who now resides in the United States.
Asgarally said he first saw Ram in action four years ago during a visit to Guyana at the same cricket club where he began his own playing career. He recalled being impressed by the young cricketer’s skill, discipline, and attitude.
“I was impressed with Pameshwar’s skill set and attitude. Even then, he showed the qualities of a top-class player in the making. Today, I am pleased to make this small contribution to a young man who looks destined to make a valuable contribution to Guyana cricket,” Asgarally said.
Ram will lead Guyana at the 50-over regional tournament, set for Antigua from July 7-23.
