Vendor arrested after 4 lbs of ganja found in Ruimveldt

A 28-year-old vendor was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of a plastic bag containing four pounds of suspected narcotics at Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

Police Headquarters said ranks made the discovery around 10:40 hrs Tuesday during an intelligence-led operation.

According to Police, ranks, acting on information received, conducted an intelligence-led operation in the area where they contacted the 28-year-old suspect, a resident of River View, Ruimveldt. A search was carried out, during which a black plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected narcotics was allegedly found.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, where the suspected narcotics were weighed in his presence before being lodged.

The vendor remains in Police custody as investigations continue.
