Limacol in as new Women’s CPL title sponsor

In a major boost for the growth of the women’s game in the region, the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) has locked in iconic Caribbean brand Limacol as its new title sponsor.
The tournament will officially be rebranded as the Limacol WCPL starting from the upcoming season, with the brand’s identity integrated across broadcasts, stadium signage, player kits, and tournament media.
The deal marks a significant homecoming for the brand, which famously backed the inaugural men’s CPL during its formative years in 2013 and 2014.
More than a decade later, Limacol returns to the CPL ecosystem to lend its support to what is currently the most ambitious women’s sporting event in the Caribbean.
“This partnership reflects everything the WCPL stands for – pride, performance, and Caribbean excellence,” CPL’s Business Operations Director Ravina Shankar said, noting that having such a deeply rooted regional brand on board represents a massive vote of confidence for women’s cricket.
Representatives from Limacol echoed the sentiment, stating that stepping into the vacancy was the “right thing to do” to support the development of women’s sports across the islands.
With the men’s tournament fresh off a staggering 1.17 billion broadcast and digital viewership loop in 2025, the addition of a major title partner for the WCPL signals the tournament’s rising stock on the global T20 circuit.
The upcoming season is set to feature the region’s elite local talent alongside top-tier international overseas stars, further cementing the league’s position as a premier fixture on the women’s global calendar.
An expanded four-team tournament, a brand-new franchise in the Jamaica Empress, and an uninterrupted ten-day window in Barbados form the bedrock of a re-engineered 2026 edition, which organisers are billing as a holistic “festival” of women’s cricket.
The entire eight-match tournament will take place at the iconic Kensington Oval in Bridgetown during the first two weeks of September.
While previous editions of the WCPL have shared the spotlight and scheduling windows with the men’s CPL, the 2026 iteration represents a distinct shift toward giving the women’s game its own dedicated, standalone identity.
The headline on-field change is the arrival of the Jamaica Empress. The newly minted franchise joins the Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and Trinbago Knight Riders, ensuring that the Caribbean’s four traditional cricketing powerhouses are all represented.
The tournament kicks off on September 5 with a high-stakes clash between the home-favourite Tridents and the Trinbago Knight Riders. The group stage features double-headers and marquee weekend fixtures before culminating in a breakout playoff system: a standalone semi-final between the second and third-placed teams on September 16, followed by the final on September 17.
