De Kinderen resident, 36, dies in accident

Kempton Forrester, 36, died on Saturday evening in an accident along the De Kinderen Public Road, West Coast Demerara.
Forrester, a resident of the De Kinderen Housing Scheme, was reportedly struck down by motor car #PSS 3141, driven by a 20-year-old man, as he was crossing the road at about 18:48 hrs.
“Initial enquiries revealed that the motor car was exiting a supermarket parking lot and entering De Kinderen Public Road when it collided with the pedestrian, who was reportedly crossing the roadway from south to north.
“As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained injuries about his head and body. He was taken by the driver to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where he was receiving medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries,” Police said in a release.
The body was later taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home. Police said CCTV cameras in the area would be reviewed. Meanwhile, a breathalyser test conducted on the driver returned readings of six micrograms on both tests.
