Man, 38, dies in G/town accident


Kevin London, a 38-year-old resident of GuyHoc Park Gardens, died after an accident at the intersection of Macaw Road and Lamaha Street, Georgetown.
In a release, Police Headquarters said the accident involved motor car #PAE 8323, driven by a 27-year-old Police Corporal of Rosignol, West Coast Berbice, and motor car #PAF 3925, driven by London. The accident occurred sometime around 05:00 hours on July 4.
Based on initial enquiries, motor car #PAE 8323 was proceeding north along Macaw Road while motor car #PAF 3925 was proceeding west along Lamaha Street. As both vehicles approached the intersection, it is alleged that both drivers failed to stop before proceeding into the junction, where the front portion of motor car #PAE 8323 collided with the left centre portion of motor car #PAF 3925.
As a result of the collision, London sustained injuries to his body. He was transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, while receiving medical treatment.
CCTV cameras were seen in the area and were reviewed.
A breathalyser test conducted on the driver of motor car #PAE 8323 found no trace of alcohol in his breath. However, the driver is presently under close arrest, assisting with investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
