AAG announces teams for CAC, Commonwealth Games and World U-20


The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) has selected a 23-athlete contingent to represent the nation across three major international championships this summer.
The local governing body confirmed that selection was finalised after athletes met the required qualification standards for their respective events.
The Guyanese teams will compete across the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Santo Domingo, and the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Oregon.
Guyana’s athletics season faces a packed schedule between late July and August, with athletes heading to three distinct global stages:
- Commonwealth Games: July 23 – August 2 in Glasgow, Scotland.
- Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games: August 2 – August 8 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
- World Athletics U20 Championships: August 5 – August 9 in Oregon, USA.
The largest senior contingent will head to Scotland, where nine athletes have been selected to compete across sprint, middle-distance, relay, and field events.

- Akeem Stewart: 100m, 4x100m relay
- Shamar Horatio: 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay
- Jackson Clarke: 200m, 4x100m relay
- Stephon Roach: Triple Jump
- Ravon Williams: 400m, mixed 4x400m relay
- Simeon Adams: 400m, mixed 4x400m relay
- Aaliyah Moore: 800m, mixed 4x400m relay
- Kelisa Smith: 100m, 200m, mixed 4x400m relay
- Coaching & Management staff: Mark Scott, Linden Phillips, and Thelson Williams.
CAC Games
Guyana will field a streamlined, two-athlete female squad for the CAC Games in the Dominican Republic.

World Athletics U20 Championships
A promising 12-member junior squad will test themselves against the world’s best at the iconic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

- Skylar Charles: 200m, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay
- Onesi Dunn: 100m, 4x100m relay
- Tishawn Easton: 200m, 400m, 4x400m relay
- Dequan Farrell: 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay
- Dejuan Grant: 4x400m relay
- Athaleyha Hinckson: 100m
- Angel Jeffery: 100m
- Ezekiel Millington: 4x100m relay
- Olivia Solomon: 800m
- Tianna Springer: 400m
- Gordon Thompson: 100m, 4x100m relay
- Coaching & Management staff: Dr James Cole (Team Manager), Quinse Clarke (Coach), Keisa Burnette (Coach), and Aretha Legall (Physiotherapist).
The AAG Council extended its gratitude to local stakeholders for facilitating the international campaign.
