Dharmic Rama Krishna schools celebrate top achievers

The Dharmic Rama Krishna Primary and Nursery Schools on Saturday honoured their graduating students and top academic performers during a joint graduation ceremony held at the Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra in Georgetown.
The event celebrated the achievements of the schools’ National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) Class of 2026, which recorded outstanding results. Of the 25 students who sat the NGSA exams, 22 achieved scores above 90 percent, while nine earned more than 99 percent. Several students also obtained perfect scores in individual subject areas.
Among the school’s top performers were Hemisha Ramcharan and Rayna Lewis, who both secured places at Queen’s College.
“I never expected to be the top student but I did work hard and I was determined” said Hemisha when asked about her thoughts on being an NGSA top performer.

In addition to academic excellence, the ceremony highlighted the school’s commitment to the holistic development of students, with performances in music, yoga and dance entertaining parents, teachers and invited guests.
Kushboo Devi Sarjoo copped the school’s ‘All Rounder’ award and came in sixth place at the school for the NGSA exams. “Stay out of trouble, focus on your studies and listen to your teachers,” was the advice from Devi to the upcoming class of Grade 6 students.
A special tribute was also paid to Headmistress Seetaji Coonjah in recognition of her more than two decades of leadership at the school and over 60 years of dedicated service as an educator in Guyana.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates and awards to graduates and students who excelled in standardised school examinations.
