MV Barima incident: ERC says it will provide any support needed

The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) has taken note of the unfortunate incident involving the MV Barima Vessel and the ongoing search and rescue efforts currently underway as authorities continue to coordinate response operations.

At this difficult time, the Commission extends its thoughts and prayers to all passengers and crew who were aboard the vessel, their families and loved ones, as well as to the members of the emergency services, the Guyana Defence Force, the Maritime Administration, private vessels, volunteers, and all others engaged in the search and rescue operations.

The Commission remains on standby to provide any assistance that may become necessary and stands in solidarity with all those affected by this unfortunate incident.

The ERC joins the nation in praying for the safety and well-being of all those involved and for strength and protection for those continuing the rescue efforts.
