Clairmonte King, beloved husband and father among MV Barima victims, laid to rest

Sixty-year-old Clairmonte King who was fondly known as ‘Chicken’ was laid to rest on Thursday afternoon. He was aboard the ill-fated MV Barima when it sank on July 18.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Lisa King, siblings and other relatives. King was remembered as a devoted husband and father to his eight children. He was also the grandfather of 13.

Remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, King’s life was celebrated through heartfelt tributes as family and friends gathered to honour his memory and mourn his tragic passing.

Those who knew him best recalled a man who embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. As one tribute expressed: “We remember a man who loved to dance, who never wasted music.”
