Pensioner and daughter robbed of licensed firearm, cash and jewellery

A pensioner and his daughter were attacked and robbed by three unmasked men armed with guns and a knife at their Lot 5 Edinburgh Village, East Bank Berbice (E.B.B) home on September 16, 2016.

 

News Room understands that 66-year-old Andrew Dosramos and his daughter 45-year-old Kamlawattie Dosramos were in their beds at about 1:00 hours when they were attacked by the three armed bandits.

 

Speaking with reporters, Kamlawattie Dosramos disclosed that she heard her father screaming and attempted to run to his aid. However, she noted that while she was getting up to go investigate, a man who she described as having long hair, grabbed her and placed duck tape on her hands and mouth.

 

“They do my father the same thing plus tie he up with the netting and bed sheet the stuff his mouth and duck tape his nose n mouth foot and hand” she added.

 

According to the distraught woman, the men started to demand that they hand over the gun and a million dollar to which she responded that they do not have that amount of money since her father is a pensioner.

 

The men ransacked the house and escaped with $3M in cash and jewellery, one laptop, one Ipad and three cellphones.

The woman said she also handed over her father’s firearm along with 75 live rounds.

 

This publication was told that the ordeal lasted for about half of an hour. It was also disclosed that the men gain entry to the house via a window located in the bathroom.

 

After informing the police of the incident, the pensioner and his daughter were taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital for medical attention where they were treated and sent home.

 

Meanwhile, the police have yet to make any arrest in connection with the robbery.

 

Investigations are ongoing.
