Police in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supernaam) are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in a trench at Perseverance village, Essequibo Coast.
Dead is 54-year-old Garbaran Rampattie known as Phil. The News Room understands that the Rampattie, who was a labourer, was last seen alive on Wednesday afternoon.
His body was discovered at around 06:30hrs Thursday. Residents contacted the Police and the body was eventually retrieved and transported to the Suddie Hospital.
He was positively identified by his sister in-law. The News Room understands that Rampattie lived alone.
