Guyanese left-hander Vishaul Singh missed out on a hundred by four runs as he led West Indies A to 276 all out on day one of the unofficial first four-day Test against Sri Lanka A in Colombo.
The diminutive middle-order batsman, who has been in tremendous form in regional cricket over the last two seasons, scored a brilliant 96 from 187 balls with nine fours.
He featured in a fourth wicket stand of 125 with skipper Shamarh Brooks, who scored 65. Kemar Roach scored an unbeaten 45, while opener Kieron Powell made 36. Sri Lanka ended the day on 0-0 after one over.
