Twenty-eight year old Ceasar Gonsalves of 117 Turn Drive, East La Penitence was moments ago remanded to prison until January 24, when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennon charged with illegal possession of arms and ammunition.

The court heard that on January 12 the man was found with a 1.4 rifle without being the holder of a license to carry same. He pleaded not guilty to that charge.

The man was also charged with possession of ammunition for which he again pleaded not guilty.

He told the court that he is a manager at a logging company. He was unrepresented in court.

On Thursday (January 12, 2017) the man was found with the items in an apartment building after the police acted on information and managed to secure a search warrant and executed the search.
