Increased flights, low-cost flight service, meals with a full complement of beverage, and in-flight entertainment are among some of the new services to be offered by Dynamic International Airways.
According to a statement from its local partner, Roraima Airways, Dynamic will be offering five daily flights per week. Flights will now also originate from Toronto, Canada to Guyana, while new flights from New York to St. Vincent and the Grenadines will commence in August 2017.
During an event recently hosted in New York on Thursday last (March 09, 2017), Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ms. Karen Kraus disclosed that the company is working to address concerns raised by Guyanese customers.
Ms. Kraus said the company has recently installed a modern operations center with a state of the art customer interactive information system that provides clients with up to the minute flight information.
The airline encountered some problems during the 2016 Christmas season when a vehicle struck its 767 aircraft at JFK Airport in New York, and its stand-by aircraft developed a flap malfunction. This left several passengers stranded, and also one person being unable to be home for her wedding.
In relation to the inconvenience caused, she expressed regret and noted that her company worked extremely hard during this period to get passengers to their destinations. She outlined new plans to strategically preposition alternative aircraft for added flights during unexpected interruptions to minimise inconvenience to passengers.
Dynamic’s Guyana representative and Roraima Airways, CEO, Captain Gouveia, revealed that of 224 Dynamic International Airlines scheduled flights to Guyana in 2016, 190 operated on time while 31 were delayed for more than 30 minutes. Three of those flights were cancelled because of either weather, accident, or mechanical failures.
Dynamic transported over 40,000 passengers to Guyana and over 39,000 out of Guyana in 2016.
The reception was attended by Guyanese business owners and community leaders, travel agents and Ambassador in Guyana’s United Nations Mission, Mr. Troy Torrington, Chairman of Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary Celebration Committee, Rickford Burke, among others.
Dynamic International Airways is based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
