Forty-one- year-old Lloyd Johnson of Bel- Air Park and Andre Smart were on Thursday (April 13, 2017), arrested by police in ‘A’ Division following the discovery of two handguns in the vehicle which they were in.
The vehicle was being driven by Johnson.
The News Room has been informed that police in the division acted on intelligence and conducted an operation which resulted in the discovery of the weapons. Both men were promptly taken into custody.
According to details reaching the News Room, the operation was conducted along the East Bank of Demerara.
The vehicle PRR 3017 in which the weapons were found has since been impounded by the police. The probe remains open and the weapons will be tested to see if they are linked to any crime scene.
It should be noted that both of the men are unlicensed firearm holders.
