The Marriott Hotel on Thursday afternoon added another Guyana Amazon Warriors autographed bat to its collection after providing exceptional hospitality for the franchise during the just concluded Hero Caribbean Premier League.
At a simple presentation ceremony in the lobby of the hotel, Team Operations Manager of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Omar Khan, presented the bat to Director of Sales of the Marriott Hotel Guyana, Davie Leona Sukdeo, in the presence of several staff members.
The bat bears the signatures of all the Guyana Amazon Warriors players who were part of the franchise during the Hero Caribbean Premier League 2017.
This is the third year in a row the hotel has received such memorabilia, as it once again played host to the Guyana Amazon Warriors and other teams during the Guyana leg of the ‘Biggest Party in Sport’ in August.
“And it’s just a token of appreciation. We’ve been doing it year after year, showing appreciation to all the people who supported us throughout the tournament, and the Marriott Hotel has been one of those. They have been very supportive to us and we’ve stayed here since 2015 and we’re happy to be here. They’ve been very accommodating and supportive, so this is just a token of our appreciation to the Marriott,” Khan related.
In receiving the bat, Sukdeo said, “At the Marriott Hotel we’re always ready and willing to host the Amazon Warriors team; we’ve been doing so for the last three years and our staff and everyone gets excited when there is CPL coming up, so we’re equally as delighted to receive this bat that you’ve given us for three years in a row. It’s going to be an addition to what we have in our glass case and we continue to look forward to a partnership with CPL and the Amazon Warriors.”
The bat was securely placed in a display case in the lobby, as proof of the fantastic relationship shared between the hotel and the franchise.
