A 26-year old man is now dead while his 27-year-old colleague is battling for his life following an accident on Sunday afternoon on the East Coast Demerara (ECD) Public Road.
News Room understands that Linden Halley, 26, of Mahaicony, ECD was driving motorcar PVV 9297 at a fast rate when he lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a utility pole.
Stanwick Halley, 27, also of Mahaicony, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
After crashing into the pole, the vehicle then collided with a guard hut in the H. Nauth and Sons Compound.
The driver was taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Halley was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he is currently a patient in the male surgical ward.
