Cotterell, Hetmyer drafted into West Indies T20 squad

The Selection Panel of Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Wednesday announced changes to the Windies squad for the three-match T20 International series on the tour of New Zealand.

“These changes are due to injury and unavailability,” CWI said in a statement.

Left-arm fast bowler Sheldon Cotterell will replace pacer Ronsford Beaton, who has been forced to return home with a side strain. Left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer will replace all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who is unavailable due to personal reasons. 

The series bowls off on Friday (December 29) at Saxton Oval in Nelson. First ball is 3pm (10pm Thursday Eastern Caribbean/9pm Thursday Jamaica). 

FULL SQUAD: Carlos Brathwaite (captain), Samuel Badree, Sheldon Cotterell, Rayad Emrit, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Rovman Powell, Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton and Kesrick Williams.

Monday, January 1: 2nd T20I – Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui
