Police are on the hunt for two men, who allegedly attempted to rob two residents of the Blind Institute, located at Lombard Street, Georgetown.

News Room understands that at around 22:00hrs on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, 22-year-old Musha Haynes was standing in the compound when he heard footsteps approaching.

Haynes told police that two male voices demanded that he ‘hand over the money’, but he told the men that it was a blind institute and no money is there.

News Room understands that the bandits then approached 61-year-old Sylvan Jacobs, who was seated in the hall of the Blind Institute and demanded that he too hand over the money. Jacobs also told them he had no money.

The two men told police that they then heard attempts being made to break a grill that secures a room located in the Eastern side of the building. The men said that the sound eventually stopped and the bandits left the building.

Detectives visited the scene and found signs of an attempt to pry open the grill.
