Another Eccles family tied up, robbed by gunmen

Another Eccles, East Bank Demerara family is now counting their losses after two masked gunmen broke into their Lot 998 ‘EE’ house, tied them up and escaped with over $1.5M in valuables.

News Room understands that at around 02:30hrs on Thursday, the gunmen kicked open the bedroom doors of 29-year-old Krista Vicente; 30-year-old Mohamed Zameer Bana, a businessman and 19-year-old Pradthis Madan – a student – and demanded cash.

Reports indicate that they bound the feet of the businessman with a belt and tied his hands with a t-shirt; Madan’s hands and feet were also bound together and both bandits were armed with handguns.

They demanded cash but none was in the house and instead, they stole from Vicente an $80,000 wristwatch; a Black Movado watch valued at $120,000; a gold wedding band valued at $250,000 GC and a Samsung Galaxy S6 cell phone.

The bandits took from the businessman two Movado watches valued at $600,000; his Samsung Galaxy S7 cellphone and one Amazon tablet valued at $40,000.

Madan lost his Samsung Galaxy cellphone and one Dell Lap Top valued at $200,000.

News Room understands that the suspects gained entry through a window on the lower flat on the building.

On Wednesday, News Room had reported that an Eccles family was left traumatized after gunmen broke into their home, tied them up and escaped with cash and valuables.
