Man who attempted to murder ex-wife found hanging


The sixty-two year old man who attempted to murder his ex -wife and then torched her house has committed suicide. The body of Lionel Thomas was found hanging from a tree at Rose Hall Town early this morning.

On Wednesday, June 20th, Thomas attacked his ex-wife, Omawattie ‘Ann’ Alvin, 47, a fish Vendor, at her Lot 192 Area ‘R’ Ankerville, Port Mourant home after she refused to reconcile their relationship.

She said Thomas became angry and broke a bottle and tried to cut her throat, but her 17-year-old daughter came to her rescue.

“He took a knife and tried to stab me to my belly; when he tried to slit my throat my daughter jumped in and covered me,” she stated. Since the incident the fish vendor has been living in fear.

After fleeing the scene, the man reportedly returned the set the house Alvin and her 17 year old daughter occupied leaving over $25 M in loses.

The Police are currently at the scene as they attempt to retrieve the body.
