The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Monday nabbed five men at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) after a substance suspected to be Cocaine was found under a vehicle in their possession.
According to CANU, a Shipper, Navindra Sarwan and his associates were arrested after the suspected cocaine was were found under Sarwan’s vehicle at CAMEX Bond in the CJIA’s compound, Timehri. The discovery was made by CANU ranks at around 23:00hrs on July 2.
The said shipper was scheduled to ship ground provision and pumpkins on a cargo flight OJ 258 destined for Canada.
The substance weighed over 7kgs.
An investigation is ongoing.
