A 23-year-old Mason was remanded to prison on Monday for allegedly shooting at two police officers and for armed robbery.
Carlton Bourne of Chapel Street, Lodge was not required to plea to the two charges which alleged that on August 1, at Chapel and Norton Streets, he discharged a loaded firearm at Police Constables Royston Mendoza and Lester Lewis, with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or cause them grievous bodily harm.
It is also alleged that on July 6, 2018, at Lot 32 Hadfield Street, Bourne while being armed with a gun, robbed Sharon Hoppie of a $140,000 gold chain, a $30,000 J5 Samsung cell phone along with $100,000 in cash. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Stephen Telford objected to Bourne being released on bail on the ground that he has pending matters before the court.
Magistrate Latchman remanded Bourne to prison until September 10.
