Body of Guyanese boat owner found in Venezuela


The body of a Charity, Essequibo man was on Wednesday morning discovered in the Orinoco River, Venezuela.

News Room understands that Mukesh Singh is the owner of a boat which was hijacked on Sunday morning. At the time, Singh and captain of the boat, 23-year-old Anthony Bacchus were in the vessel.

The body of 23-year-old Bacchus of Port Kaituma, Region one was discovered on Tuesday, also in the Orinoco river.

Reports are that the men, who transport persons to and from Venezuela, were abducted by armed gangs.

Singh leaves to mourn his wife and three children. The family was not in a position to speak with News Room when contacted on Wednesday evening.
