West Indies ODI selectee Chandrapaul Hemraj has struck a one-year sponsorship deal with global sports brand Adidas India.
The left-handed Hemraj, who is with the West Indies ODI team in India preparing for the five-match series starting Sunday in Guwahati, will proudly display the company’s logo on his gear for the next 12 months.
The deal was made possible by Cricket Zone USA, a major dealer for Adidas Cricket in North America.
Managing Director, Ravi Etwaroo, speaking to News Room on Thursday, was overjoyed at sealing the deal for his fellow Guyanese.
“We worked really hard on getting this for young Hemraj. We know he’s a quality player and we’re confident he will deliver the goods in India. We at Cricket Zone USA wish him well and hope this new partnership will further catapult his budding career,” Etwaroo said.
Etwaroo said he’s always been impressed with Hemraj’s undeniable batting talent, ever since he first saw him in youth cricket days.
“We’re very proud of the strides he has made in his career. Hemraj has been doing extremely well for Guyana and West Indies A in recent times and we’re looking forward to him taking that same form and momentum to the international level,” Etwaroo related.
Hemraj announced the partnership on social media on Thursday, stating, “Happy to sign with Adidas for the next year! Good stuff! @Ravi Etwaroo @cricketzoneusa”
Hemraj, opening the batting for Guyana Jaguars, scored his maiden List A hundred in the Super50, a day after learning of his call-up to the West Indies ODI squad to India.
