Minibus Conductor to stand High Court trial for rape of school girl

Minibus conductor, Asahel Williams was committed to stand trial at the High Court on Tuesday for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old school girl.

Principal Magistrate, Judy Latchman found that there is enough evidence for the case to be tried before a judge and jury. He remains on $300,000 bail.

It is alleged that on October 7, 2015, at Plum Park, Sophia, Georgetown he raped the teen.  Williams was jointly charged with minibus driver, Sherwayne Brant, who is on trial before another court.

According to reports, on the day in question, the two men drove away with the teen inside the vehicle.

They allegedly took her to a house in Plum Park, Sophia where they raped her. The teen told her parents and the matter was reported to the police.
