For the year 2019, total wages and salaries for the Guyana Police Force will amount to over $6.5 billion; this compares to this year’s revised budget of $5.5 billion.
The Force employs 11 contracted employees and their payment for next year will amount to over $92.3 million, according to estimates presented to the National Assembly during consideration of the budget estimates Friday for the Ministry of Public Security.
The contracted employees and their salaries, as presented to the House by the Minister of Public Security are:
• Legal Advisor to the Police $1.4 million
• Two Forensic Technologists at $600, 000 each
• Lawyer – $600, 000
• Financial Investigator $468, 000
• Assistant Commissioner, Head of Office of Professional Responsibility – $317, 000
• Special Superintendent- $176, 632
• Pathologist – $350, 000
• Two Financial Investigators at $150, 000

The other wages and salaries expenses amount to $337.5 million for 158 Administrative staff; $791 million for 578 technical and craft skilled staff; $479.4 million for 568 semi-skilled operatives and unskilled staff.
