The Police Legal Advisor, Claudette Singh has advised that no charges be laid against news anchor and journalist attached to HGPTV Nightly News, Travis Chase, who shot a labourer on December 2, 2018.

Instead, the Legal Advisor has advised that the labourer, Jimmy Ramgobin be charged with the offence of “Throwing missiles on a public way to the annoyance or danger of any person”, a Police statement noted Wednesday afternoon.

The case has been engaging the attention of the Police since the incident following allegations that Chase had kicked and assaulted the Labourer.

Police Headquarters revealed that Chase arrived at De Abreau Street, Newtown Kitty at around 04:30hrs to drop home his girlfriend when he noticed a man in front of the yard.

It is claimed by Chase that he approached the man, who attacked and hurled bottles at him [Chase].

Police said that Chase, who is a licensed firearm holder, took “evasive action and discharged his weapon at the victim who was struck once,” to the lower right leg.
