‘Fed-Up’ party to be launched in Berbice

A political party called the Federal United (Fed-Up) Movement is being launched in Berbice Friday afternoon.

The movement is fronted by a former Magistrate Chandra Sohan and Attorney-at-law Ryan Crawford.

On September 21 last year,  Crawford was charged with five offences related to an altercation he had with a Police officer on September 13, 2018, at the Yorkshire Public Road, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.

The confrontation was captured on a video that went viral on social media showing Crawford verbally abusing the Police officer who was requesting to see his documents.

In July 2017, Sohan was arrested for obstructing justice as the sensational case in the murder of carpenter Faiyaz Narinedatt continues.

Also in September 2017, Sohan was charged with failing to render assistance and also for failing to disclose his identification to the nearest police station following the accident.

He was also charged for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The launch of the party is scheduled for 15:00 hrs at the Chamber of Commerce Building, Rose Hall Town, Berbice at
