Miner charged with murder
A 33-year-old miner was on Monday remanded to prison by the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the capital offence of murder.
Paul Charles of Foulmouth Village, Essequibo River was not required to plead to the charge which alleged that on February 7, 2019, at Foulmouth Village, he murdered Cedric James, 32.
He was remanded until February 21 and the matter was transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
According to reports, James was allegedly stabbed to death by Charles during an argument over an incident that occurred in 2009.
