The administration of Mae’s Schools has decided to increase its security measures by having armed security personnel at the schools when classes resume on Wednesday.
A statement posted on the schools’ Facebook Page Tuesday noted that there will also be security screenings of all students, staff, and visitors entering the school compound.
The schools’ administration cancelled classes on Monday and Tuesday following an online threat at the weekend to bomb the building.
In the threat posted to social media, the perpetrator (s) said he/she will “blow the roof of that school” and will do it “more than once during these couple six months before I migrate.”
For the past two weeks, schools around Guyana have experienced threats of bombs and shootings, the first being School of the Nations.
