A suspected bandit was shot dead while three of his alleged accomplices were arrested after they reportedly tried to rob a business establishment at 288 Thomas Street, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown Saturday afternoon.
According to a resident in the area who does not want to be named, the four men arrived at the Kays Diamond Enterprise Ltd. around 12:00hrs in a black wagon. While one of the perpetrators ventured into the establishment, the others were guarding outside.
News Room understands that upon entering the business place with his weapon, the bandit came under a hail of gunfire from the private security guards at the establishment.
The dead bandit is yet to be identified.
The residents said no gunshots were heard from outside of the building.
The resident told News Room that all of the men looked below the age of 30 and were “acting cool” as the police officers who were called to the scene proceeded to search the car.
They were eventually arrested and taken to the police station.
