Man wanted for murder of ‘Diesel Boss’ shot by Police

Thirty-six-year old Marlon Bradley known as ‘Maley’ is nursing a gunshot wound to his left upper leg after he was shot by a Policeman on Sunday night at Stabroek Market.

Police Headquarters revealed that Bradley of East La Penitence, Georgetown and also of Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara, is wanted for the murder of Reginald ‘Reggie’ Atherly popularly known as ‘Diesel Boss’ who was gunned down at his Guyhoc Park East La Penitence, Georgetown home on July 27.

According to a Police statement, a party of Policemen were on patrol at the Stabroek Market Square when they saw the suspect walking on Cornhill Street towards a route 32 minibus.

The Police claimed that they approached the suspect in an effort to arrest him when he whipped out a handgun from his crutch and pointed it at the cops.

A Police Constable drew his service pistol – a 9mm Taurus – and discharged a round in Bradley’s direction and he was shot in the leg.

Police Headquarters said that a .32 Taurus pistol with magazine and eight live .32 rounds of ammunition was retrieved from the suspect.
