Five days after 53-year-old David Mohan fell overboard at sea during a fishing trip, his relatives are still desperately trying to find him.

Madonna Ghanie, one of his nieces, told the News Room Tuesday that the search has moved to the Essequibo Coast, Region Two.

Mohan, who is a father of four, left his Mon Repos East Coast Demerara, home with his son Christopher and another fisherman for a fishing trip when he fell overboard.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Demerara River behind the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown at about 22:00hrs on October 31.

“He wasn’t feeling well and he asked for his pressure tablet and by the time his son reach to go get the tablet, he fell overboard,” Ghanie had told the News Room.

After the man fell overboard, his son could not do anything to save him as he cannot swim.

The son and the other fisherman were rescued by relative hours after the incident, as neither could have captained the boat.

Christopher and the fisherman were in the Police custody at the Beterverwagting Police Station but were subsequently released.
