Police on the Essequibo Coast have arrested four persons in connection with the death of Essequibo businessman Shawn ‘Paperman’ Mannilall.
Police in a statement on Sunday said that of the four arrested one is a female. The police also said that the alleged shooter is among those arrested.
Mannilall, 48, of Parcel 61 Queenstown, Essequibo Coast was killed just as he was entering his home with his family Friday night; they were confronted by two masked men.
The incident happened at about 20:00hrs.
The men were wearing helmets and were armed with a handgun and a cutlass.
Police said the firearm was discharged hitting Mannilall to his chest, shoulder and right side abdomen causing him to collapse after which the men fled the scene.
Munnilall was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
